EV Charging Electrician – Installation & Commissioning
📍 UK Wide (travel required)
Volantes Renewables Recruitment is supporting the growth of a national EV infrastructure delivery organisation and we’re now looking to speak with qualified Electricians interested in working within the electric vehicle charging sector.
This role focuses on the installation, testing and commissioning of EV charge points across a variety of environments including commercial, industrial and public infrastructure sites.
It’s an excellent opportunity for a commercial electrician looking to move into a future-proof sector with structured progression and specialist training.
The Role
You will be responsible for installing and commissioning EV charging equipment while ensuring all works are completed safely and in compliance with regulations and manufacturer requirements.
Key duties:
• Installation of EV charging stations (AC and DC chargers)
• Testing, inspection and commissioning of electrical systems
• Working from electrical drawings, cable calculations and installation designs
• Completing NICEIC certification and digital documentation
• Liaising with supervisors and project teams on progress
• Maintaining accurate installation and inspection records
• Adhering to site health & safety procedures
• Supporting project delivery across multiple UK locations
• Attending training and development sessions
Requirements (Essential)
• NVQ Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification or approved apprenticeship
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
• Commercial or industrial electrical installation experience (1–3+ years)
• JIB / CSCS Gold Card
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable
• EV charging experience
• DC fast charging installations (50kW – 400kW+)
• Inspection & Testing – C&G 2391
• EV Charging qualification – C&G 2919 (or equivalent)
• SSSTS
