Role
The helicopter B2 Engineer is responsible for the maintenance (line/base) of the helicopters.
They work in a team of engineers and report to the Maintenance Lead.
Responsibilities & Areas
Line Maintenance
- Comply with the requirements as described in the regulations;
- Ensure that all line maintenance tasks carried out to helicopters meet the standard of the UK CAA and M.O.E. instructions;
- Ensure, together with all Engineers, a variable & flexible work planning & work roster based on business needs that supports & realizes business continuity;
- Ensure that all maintenance is completed within the appropriate time scales to ensure provision of a serviceable aircraft to meet the operational need;
- Ensure, based on pilot & all other relevant information, daily problem analysis & problem solving;
- Ensure briefing & debriefing of pilots and Maintenance Lead;
- Ensure that PRF (preflight check) is performed;
- Ensure, in cooperation with the cleints Supply Chain, Store & support services that the necessary maintenance material & spare parts are present on site at the planned moment: material in service car, consumables, limited service stock, work material, material needed for normal day-to-day line maintenance, exceptional material supplied for exceptional line maintenance or small repair tasks;
- Report daily on the maintenance situation to the Maintenance Lead.
Base Maintenance
- Comply with the requirements as described in the regulations;
- Ensure that all maintenance tasks carried out to helicopters meet the standard of the UK CAA and M.O.E. instructions;
- Ensure, together with all Engineers, a variable & flexible work planning & work roster based on business needs that supports & realizes business continuity;
- Ensure that all maintenance is completed within the appropriate time scales to ensure provision of serviceable aircraft to meet the operational need;
- Ensure briefing & debriefing of the Maintenance Lead; Report daily on the maintenance situation; Inform and update the Maintenance Lead on the maintenance situation;
- Ensure, in cooperation with the clients Supply Chain, Store & support services that the necessary maintenance material & spare parts are present on site at the planned moment;
- Participate in the daily morning Maintenance Lead’s briefing (toolbox meeting).
Skills & Experience
- ICT literate (specific aviation software & MS Office)
- Languages: English (professional level)
- Knows & operates by the procedure and processes (operational, quality, safety …) installed by the company
- Good communicator:
- debriefing to pilots, flight crew and Maintenance Lead
- handover of work from/to previous/next shift
- Able to work independently when performing in a less controlled environment and to take initiative to improve work and complete tasks within appropriate time scales
- Logical thinking
- UK CAA Part 66 B2 License
- Type ratings on AW139 and AW169 is preferred, though training can be provided
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in aviation and as a licensed engineer is preferred
- Engineering experience in different aviation companies is a plus

Qualifications:

This role is for their Emmen base in central Switzerland.
To be consider, you must have an B1.3/C EASA Licence and hold the AS332 (Super Puma) Type Rating.
The Role
- Responsible for the professional and quality-compliant implementation of the assigned inspection, modification and repair work on helicopters, aircraft, spare parts and new parts.
- Carrying out device tests and functional checks on special test systems according to the manufacturer's testing and maintenance instructions

Responsibilities

The Director of Engineering is responsible for leading the engineering and technical operations of the company’s fleet in compliance with UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) regulations and European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) standards.
The newly appointed Director of Engineering would be reporting directly to the CTO, managing engineering teams and collaborating across departments to support the company’s strategic and operational goals.

Leadership and Team Management

Technical Innovation and Fleet Management
- Identify and implement new technologies and processes that enhance fleet performance, reduce operational costs, drive efficiency and improve environmental sustainability.
- Oversee the integration of new aircraft into the fleet, including modifications and certification processes with the CAA and EASA requirements.
- Collaborate with aircraft manufacturers, suppliers, and MROs (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) to resolve technical issues, implement upgrades, and optimise aircraft performance.
Budget and Cost Control
- Manage the engineering department's budget, ensuring cost-effective maintenance operations without compromising safety and regulatory compliance.
- Review and negotiate contracts with third-party maintenance providers to secure the best service and pricing.
- Implement strategies to reduce maintenance costs while maintaining fleet reliability and on-time performance.
Strategic Planning and Cross-Departmental Collaboration
- Participate in long-term strategic planning for the company’s technical operations, ensuring alignment with broader business goals.
- Work closely with flight operations, logistics, finance, and other departments to ensure a coordinated approach to fleet maintenance and technical operations.
- Provide technical expertise and support to other departments, particularly in relation to flight safety and performance.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time performance, maintenance costs, and aircraft reliability.
- Use data analysis to drive improvements in operational efficiency and fleet performance.
Stakeholder and Vendor Management
- Build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders, including the CAA, EASA, aircraft manufacturers, and third-party MRO providers.
- Ensure third-party maintenance providers adhere to the company’s safety and performance standards.
Training and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in aircraft engineering and maintenance, including significant leadership experience.
- Proven experience with UK CAA and EASA regulations and compliance requirements.
- Licensed Aircraft Engineer with a Part-66 certification or equivalent (desired).
- Experience in managing large, diverse teams and complex technical projects.
- Experience with regional aircraft types.
