The Role
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced UKCAA B1.3 Licensed Aircraft Engineer to join a skilled and professional engineering team delivering scheduled and unscheduled maintenance services to a prestigious rotary wing clientele. You will be responsible for line and base maintenance activities under Part 145, certifying aircraft within your approval limits and overseeing maintenance to ensure full safety and regulatory compliance.
You will also serve as a key point of contact for customers and flight crew, handling enquiries professionally and seeing them through to resolution.
Key Responsibilities

The Successful Candidate
- UK Part 66 B1.3 licence — essential
- Type ratings on one or more of the following preferred: S-92A, AW139, S-76C++, H155

Volantes Technical Recruitment is working on behalf of a specialist aviation maintenance and readiness training operator to find an experienced NDT Technician – Level 2 to join their Engineering team on a permanent basis in Bournemouth.
The Role
In this role, you will assist the NDT Technician Level 3 (RL3) and support the Aircraft Maintenance Manager in delivering safe, compliant, and high-quality Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) across Part-145 and/or A8-23 activities.
This position plays a key part in maintaining the operational performance of our client's aircraft maintenance operation, including support at remote locations when required. You will perform NDT tasks to regulatory standards while contributing to a culture where safety, quality and compliance come first.
Location & Working Pattern
- Location: Bournemouth
- Working pattern: Monday–Thursday 08:00–16:00, Friday 08:00–15:30 — 37 hours per week
Special Conditions
NDT is highly regulated and safety, quality and regulatory compliance is held as the priority. The NDT Technician Level 2 must drive and deliver a culture of safety first ahead of schedule, with the highest level of safety and regulatory compliance across all relevant areas. Promoting SHE and security in relation to the performance of NDT activities is essential. Operational activity is based around customer requirements; therefore, a willingness to work additional hours, be on call, and travel in order to deliver a successful maintenance operation is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote a “Just Culture” with regard to safety and the reporting of occurrences within the business
- Take particular responsibility for the NDT of aircraft and aircraft equipment as allocated by your supervisor
- Support aircraft away from home base when necessary, including scheduled operations or defect assessments on an ad-hoc basis
- Ensure that all operations are carried out safely and correctly, in accordance with the relevant Maintenance Manuals and the Company Exposition
- Ensure correct and timely completion of all documentation relating to NDT activities performed
- Co-ordinate with other engineering activities, enabling NDT and aircraft maintenance teams to complete tasks to target and within budget
- Keep work areas clean and tidy at all times
- Evaluate existing standards, practices and procedures with a view to continuous improvement and efficiency
- Assist the NDT Level 3 (RL3) in day-to-day team functions, and deputise in their absence
- Assist the NDT Level 3 (RL3) in prioritising tasks and scheduling requirements
- Assist the NDT Level 3 (RL3) in the development of the team

Essential Experience & Skills
- Previous NDT experience, ideally within aircraft maintenance
- Qualified to PCN/AERO scheme, or BS EN ISO 9712, or EN4179 Level 2 in Eddy Current (EC) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
- Strong NDT/aerospace product knowledge
- Good computer literacy (Microsoft Suite; Aero-Trac preferred)
- Understanding of aircraft maintenance regulatory requirements
- Aerospace experience

- Magnetic Particle Testing (MP)
- Fluorescent Dye Penetrant Inspection (FPI)
- Radiography (RT)
- Dassault NDT engineer training for specialist processes

About the Role

Volantes Technical Recruitment is working on behalf of an organisation operating Special Mission Aircraft platforms to find a specialist RF/Spectrum Interference Technical Analyst to deliver a critical technical assessment on radio interference effects and controls.
This is a highly specialist consultancy-style contract assignment, ideal for a senior RF/EMC professional with deep expertise in aeronautical spectrum protection and safety-of-life radiocommunication systems.
The Role
You will provide a detailed technical analysis and assessment of the radio interference effects and controls associated with Special Mission Aircraft systems. This includes:
- Undertaking a comprehensive assessment of the potential impact of unintended emissions, spurious emissions, and out-of-band transmissions on safety-of-life radiocommunication services.
- Overseeing ground measurements, analysis and presentation of measured RF emissions data from relevant aircraft systems, performed at a UK location where free space transmissions are permitted.
- Giving particular consideration to the protection of spectrum allocated to the Aeronautical Mobile (R) Service and Aeronautical Radionavigation Service, where harmful interference could carry adverse safety consequences.
- Assessing potential effects on civil CNS/ATM systems, including both airborne and ground-based installations operating in protected aeronautical spectrum bands.
- Extending assessment to other internationally recognised safety-of-life systems, including maritime search and rescue services under GMDSS, maritime radionavigation services, and related space/terrestrial systems identified in the ITU Radio Regulations as requiring special protection.
- Demonstrating, through technical analysis and mitigation measures, that proposed operations will not cause harmful interference to protected services, consistent with ITU Radio Regulations and relevant ITU-R Recommendations.
- Assessing and mitigating unintended transmission risk across the full possible transmission range of the mission system.
About You
- Professional Engineer / Technical Specialist with 10+ years' proven experience in a relevant technical discipline.

This is a key compliance and oversight role within a growing rotary-wing MRO, working closely with maintenance, engineering, and leadership to uphold the highest standards of airworthiness and regulatory compliance.
The Role
- Perform inspection functions in line with the Repair Station Quality Control Manual
- Maintain full familiarity with applicable FARs, manufacturer procedures, and other governing technical data
- Carry out progressive and pre-close inspections on in-work aircraft
- Provide technical guidance and training support to technicians
- Ensure inspections are correctly completed and documented across all work orders
- Conduct scheduled audits of the Repair Station and approved vendors
