These positions are starting off in the Transition Team, working across all 4 Irish bases (Shannon, Sligo, Waterford and Weston) before then settling at one of the bases come steady state come September 2025.

Accommodation, travel and subsistence will all be payable during transition phase.

The EASA B1.3 Engineers are responsible to their supervisor for the following: 

• Acting in support of Chief Engineer responsibilities, ensuring tasks are completed in accordance with the Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) and other applicable Company Procedures, such as Maintenance Procedures, Ground Operations and Health and Safety manuals;
• The safe, correct and timely completion of all work assigned to them; 
• The reporting of any accident, incident or lapse in quality that they observe or encounter;
• Ensuring their ongoing competency to carry out their duties by adherence to MOE procedures through training and performance assessments; 
• (Certifying staff only); the determination of when an aircraft and/or component is or is not ready for release to service;
• (Certifying staff only); Issuing of certificate of release to service within the scope of their authorisation as required, in accordance with MOE procedures;
• (B2 Only) Attain Daily/Pre-Flight Inspection approvals, alongside Independent Inspections for the relevant aircraft type; 
• (Cat C Only) Supervise and manage Base Maintenance tasks and sign CRS; 
• Carry out duties related to firefighting covered as required by the operational circumstances;
• Carry out line maintenance and Operational Line support tasks as assigned by management ;
• Carry out ramp duties in accordance with ground operations procedures; 
• Coordinate with Flight Operations with respect daily aircraft availability and requirements; 
• Liaise with Continued Airworthiness Organisation (CAMO) on technical queries and HUMS support; 
• Responsible for refuelling aircraft iaw standard operating procedures;
• Accept goods in and process goods out in the absence of a store person;  
• Carry out and be responsible for additional secondary duties as required by management such as Calibration of Tooling, H&S requirements, Document Control, GSE Servicing; 
• Support the Chief Engineer and Engineering Manager to setup and maintain the Part 145 facility and base infrastructure to an acceptable standard. 

Qualifications

• Holder of EASA B1.3 maintenance license; 
• AW189 Type rated (preferred) – type courses available
• Driving License.

Our client is a leading aviation charter service operating in Papua New Guinea, they have rotations of  28/28 or 42/42 days.

Travel, internet, and full lodging will be provided whilst on shift.

Principle Responsibilities

• Certification at B1.3 &/or B2 level on S92.  (an AW189 type rating, or Goodrich Hoist training would be an advantage).
• Line maintenance, modification, repairs, and component changes on S92/AW189 and other aircraft required.
• Ensure that all maintenance tasks carried out meet the standard to CAA regulations.
• Help maintain / improve Company standards.
• Ensure that all maintenance is completed within the appropriate time scales to ensure provision of serviceable aircraft to meet the operational expectations.
• Inform and update the Chief Engineer on the maintenance situation.
• Marshalling, refuelling, ground handling of aircraft.
• Where assigned, mentor trainees.

The successful candidate must

• CAA Part 66 B1.3/B2 license holder.
• Proven track record of performing aircraft maintenance operations in a safe, efficient, and effective manner under supervision.
• Have the ability to work in all weathers and under time pressure.
• Must be eligible to either work in the Falkland Islands or be able to meet Falkland Island work permit requirements.
• Be IT literate in MS office applications is essential

• Working knowledge of ERP systems. SAP / eMX / RAMCO is desirable
• Good communication skills both verbal and written
• Ability to work effectively within a small team.
• Flexibility to support a remote operation such as in the Falklands Islands

This is a Monday to Friday Role and would be to cover both their Emden & Munich bases.

Your tasks

• Ensuring the technical competence of the entire maintenance workforce by the establishment of a training and development programme
• Managing records of all training and experience of the maintenance personnel
• Implementation of maintenance procedures and practices
• Ensuring that the maintenance procedures and standards are observed

The Ideal Candidate

Your tasks

Ensuring the highest standard of safety and airworthiness

Service and maintenance of the aircraft on a daily basis according to the Approved Maintenance Data as well as unscheduled maintenance that may occur

Correction of all known discrepancies affecting airworthiness and implementation of corrective action entered in work orders/cards in accordance with relevant company procedures

Documentation of all discrepancies, maintenance performed, and all Post Maintenance Check requirements in the appropriate document

Ensuring that aircraft technical log and work order/card entries are correct, clear and complete

Prior to performing a maintenance task or tasks, ensuring that all parts installed are airworthy and meet the requirements of the Type Certificate

Ensuring that all special tools required to perform these tasks have a valid calibration sticker (torque wrench serial numbers are to be referenced on the relevant corrective action document)

Fostering a safe and clean work environment, ensuring the utilization of the HS&E Manual and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (gloves, safety glasses, etc.) when appropriate

Entry of all measurements taken during an inspection  on the relevant inspection work card

Volantes Technical Recruitment, on behalf of our long standing business jet client have the permanent role of Lead Technical Services Coordinator available.

This position is based at their Luton facility.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Lead Technical Services Coordinator’s role is to be responsible for the day to day operation of the Technical Services Department (Part 145) ensuring adherence to regulatory and customer contract requirements while achieving department performance metrics.

You will liaise with both existing and potential new engineering customers to enhance and develop key relationships.

You will have oversight of and where required produce customer proposals and requests for quotes.

When acting as a primary point for contact for customers for detailed project management prior to, during and post scheduled maintenance inputs, you will also liaise with the Engineering Manager and Hangar Superintendent to ensure that adequate resources and equipment are available for any works to be undertaken.

You will monitor maintenance activities against agreed schedules and financial targets, in conjunction with management, ensuring that all relevant parties are aware of any deficiencies that may emerge in respect of customer issues or financial implications and manage that process accordingly.

You will ensure that tasks that are under your remit are achieved in accordance with both company procedures and customer requirements, ensuring that Technical Services procedures are adhered to, and ensuring that all work carried out complies with the relevant Regulatory Authority at that time.

THE HOURS

Due to the nature of the business, the Lead Technical Services Coordinator is required to provide an exceptionally high level of service and is responsible for ensuring that business needs are met in a timely and appropriate manner.

Given that the Company operates on a 365 days a year basis, the hours for this position are as required for the business. Some out of hour’s calls / work is expected and flexibility will be required, however normal working hours will generally be Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, as below;

• 08:00 to 16:30 Monday to Thursday
• 08:00 to 16:00 Friday

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

The successful candidates for this role shall be flexible, have the ability to prioritise and demonstrate good communication skills.

Previous experience of working within an Engineering or Technical Services environment is essential and knowledge of a Part-145 Maintenance Repair Organisation would be advantageous. Preference will be given to those that have gained this experience in a corporate /private / business aviation environment. You will have demonstrable people management experience, and have dealt with aspects such as probations and appraisal processes.

Applicants should have an organised, adaptable and flexible approach with strong interpersonal skills and a diplomatic approach. You will be enthusiastic, willing to learn and maintain a professionala ppearance and manner at times in sometimes challenging circumstances.

The ability to prioritise in an ever-changing environment, remain calm and adapt under pressure are essential for the role.

Excellent communication skills are key to this role, combined with courtesy and integrity which are equally as important. Good administration skills and computer literacy (Microsoft packages,general working knowledge of systems) are essential qualities. If not first language, English must be spoken / written to a fluent standard.

The role may at times be required to provide support at other locations, or travel to customer facilities therefore a full UK driving license is essential, as is holding the right to live and work in the UK.

You will also need to have a 5-year checkable history in order to obtain an airport ID pass.
