Job Description

Licensed Aircraft Engineers (B1.3 & B2) - AS332 L2

Papua New Guinea
Rotation or Full Relocation Available

Volantes Technical Recruitment are supporting a well-established international aviation operator in the recruitment of experienced Licensed Aircraft Engineers (B1 & B2) for operations based in Papua New Guinea.

This is not a traditional base maintenance position.

These roles sit within an active operational environment supporting passenger, cargo and remote air support operations across mountainous and jungle terrain. Engineers will gain a level of responsibility, autonomy and variety rarely found in large airline or MRO environments.

Opportunities are available on both long-term relocation and equal-time rotational contracts.

The Opportunity

You will join a small, highly experienced engineering team maintaining aircraft operating daily into remote airstrips and challenging operating conditions. The position suits engineers who enjoy hands-on maintenance, problem solving and operational decision-making.

This is a genuine lifestyle role as well as a career opportunity, offering exposure to real operational aviation rather than repetitive hangar maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Certifying scheduled and unscheduled maintenance

  • Line maintenance and defect rectification

  • Troubleshooting and AOG recovery

  • Aircraft dispatch and technical support to flight crews

  • Working closely with operations and logistics departments

  • Maintaining accurate technical documentation and records

  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and company procedures

  • Supporting remote base operations where required

Requirements

  • B1.3 / B2 License
  • AS332 L2 type rating
  • EASA / UK CAA / ICAO recognised B1 Licence
  • Turbine aircraft experience essential
  • Utility aircraft, regional airline, bush flying or helicopter experience highly desirable
  • Strong troubleshooting capability
  • Comfortable working independently

What’s Offered

  • Competitive tax-efficient salary package

  • Choice of rotation or full relocation

  • Accommodation provided

  • Flights provided

  • Local transport support

  • Visa and work permit sponsorship

  • Insurance and medical cover

  • Structured leave patterns for rotational staff

  • Ongoing long-term opportunity with a stable international operator

The Ideal Candidate

This role suits engineers who:

  • Prefer practical engineering over heavy paperwork environments

  • Enjoy problem solving

  • Are confident making technical decisions

  • Want something different from standard airline maintenance

  • Are adaptable and professional in a remote working environment

Previous remote operations, military, offshore helicopter, humanitarian, or regional airline experience would be highly advantageous but is not essential.
