Volantes Technical Recruitment is supporting the search for an experienced Supply Chain Manager – Aviation to join a large, complex aviation maintenance and operations environment in Abu Dhabi.

This is a senior role responsible for leading and optimising the end-to-end aviation supply chain function, ensuring the timely availability of aircraft parts, components, tooling, and materials to support maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) activities.

 

Role Overview

The Supply Chain Manager will be accountable for strategic and operational supply chain performance, including procurement, logistics, inventory control, vendor management, and compliance with aviation regulatory and quality standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aviation supply chain and logistics activities supporting aircraft maintenance and operational requirements

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies to improve availability, cost control, efficiency, and operational readiness

  • Oversee procurement, sourcing, contracting, and supplier performance management

  • Ensure effective inventory management, including forecasting, stock control, rotables, repairables, and consumables

  • Manage inbound and outbound logistics, customs coordination, shipping, and transportation of aviation materials and components

  • Ensure compliance with applicable aviation regulations, quality standards, and internal procedures

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with OEMs, suppliers, repair stations, and logistics partners

  • Monitor KPIs related to material availability, lead times, cost, and supplier performance

  • Lead, mentor, and develop supply chain and logistics teams

  • Coordinate closely with maintenance, engineering, quality, and planning teams to align supply chain support with operational demands

  • Manage AOG support processes to minimise aircraft downtime

  • Identify risks within the supply chain and implement mitigation strategies

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain processes, systems, and controls

 

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in aviation supply chain, logistics, or materials management

  • Proven experience in a management or leadership role within an aviation or MRO environment

  • Strong understanding of aircraft parts provisioning, repair management, inventory control, and logistics operations

  • Experience supporting fixed-wing and/or rotary-wing aircraft is highly desirable

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Aviation Management, Business, or a related discipline (preferred)

  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g. supply chain, logistics, procurement) are advantageous

  • Commercial awareness with a focus on cost control and supplier performance

  • Excellent organisational and analytical capabilities

  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, operationally critical aviation environment

  • Strong communication skills, with experience working in multicultural teams
