Volantes Technical Recruitment is partnering again with our major Aviation Maintenance provider client in the UAE. 

This time we will be supporting their recruitment drive within their workshop team.

We're seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to take full control of a busy rotary and fixed-wing maintenance facility, supporting aircraft availability and operational readiness.

This is a permanent role based in Abu Dhabi, with full relocation, visa sponsorship, and tax-free earnings included.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all workshop personnel, equipment, and assets to deliver compliant and efficient maintenance output.

• Own the development and enforcement of workshop procedures, technical compliance, and safety standards.

• Oversee the interpretation and application of OEM manuals, regulatory frameworks, and work orders.

• Coordinate logistics support – including parts, tooling, documentation, and manuals – to sustain operations.

• Evaluate maintenance procedures to ensure alignment with military, OEM, and health & safety requirements.

• Lead trend analysis and apply production/quality control, safety techniques, and maintenance best practices.

• Collaborate cross-departmentally to ensure workshop output supports flight ops priorities.

• Maintain full accountability of tools, equipment, and workshop inventories.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and upskill workshop personnel.

• Submit structured weekly/monthly reports identifying deficiencies and achievements.

• Handle day-to-day HR administration such as appraisals, requisitions, and status changes.

What You’ll Bring

• Degree or equivalent qualification in aviation engineering OR FAA A&P license / military equivalent.

• Minimum 15 years of aviation maintenance experience, with 7+ years in workshop leadership roles.

• Hands-on expertise with both rotary and fixed-wing aircraft systems.

• Knowledge of TAMMS or similar maintenance management systems is preferred.

• Confident team leader with strong delegation, communication, and process ownership skills.

• Experience working in multicultural or military environments highly valued.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and maintenance tracking/reporting software.
