Job Description
On behalf of a well-established MRO based at London Stansted Airport, Volantes Technical Recruitment is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager – Part 145 to take ownership of base maintenance operations on a diverse fleet including Sikorsky S-76, S-92, Leonardo AW139, and Airbus H155 helicopters.
This is a senior-level opportunity offering a chance to join a high-performing operation serving both VVIP and offshore clients.
In addition to line and base maintenance, the facility delivers turnkey solutions including cabin refurbishment and lease transition support.
This role will suit a proactive, organised, and regulation-savvy individual looking to lead and shape a strong engineering department within a Part 145 environment.
Key Responsibilities

Oversight of all base and line maintenance operations, including coordination of subcontracted maintenance activities.

Leadership and day-to-day management of engineering personnel including standards, performance, development, and welfare.

Ensure all maintenance staff under your remit meet regulatory and internal competence standards.

Act as a primary point of contact for customer support, ensuring clear communication from proposal through to work completion.

Plan and oversee scheduled maintenance activities, ensuring tools, materials, and competent staff are available to meet deadlines.

Authorise and review customer work scope, rectification approval, and payment terms—including the review of draft invoices.

Ensure maintenance is carried out to the required regulatory standards and in line with approved work specifications.

Drive Health & Safety, staff development, training plans, and team performance across the department.
Requirements

Demonstrable experience in a leadership role within a Part 145 MRO environment.

Must be acceptable to the UK CAA (or equivalent authority) as a nominated postholder.

Deep working knowledge of Part 145, Part 66, and Part CAMO regulations.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with proven ability to manage a dynamic workload and deliver under pressure.

Must hold the right to live and work in the UK.

Full UK driving license required due to occasional travel to client sites and partner locations.

Ability to pass background checks for an airport ID pass (5-year traceable history).
