Electrical Field Service Engineer

📍 Glasgow (Field-Based | Scotland)
💰 £34,000 – £48,000 + Package

We’re supporting a growing EV infrastructure organisation with the appointment of an Electrical Field Service Engineer to cover sites across Scotland.

This is a brilliant opportunity to join a business operating at the forefront of the EV transition, working on AC, Rapid DC, Ultra & High-Power Charging (HPC) systems across a national network.

 

The Role

You’ll be responsible for the commissioning, maintenance, fault finding and repair of EV charging infrastructure across a variety of client sites.

This is a field-based role, ideal for someone confident working independently, delivering high-quality technical support, and ensuring maximum uptime across critical charging networks.

Travel across Scotland will be required, with occasional overnight stays.

 

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a field-based engineering role

  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills

  • Experience working within SLA-driven environments

  • Ability to work independently on client sites

  • Familiar with electrical testing equipment

  • Strong communication and customer-facing skills

  • Full UK Driving Licence (max 6 points)

Desirable:

  • 18th Edition (BS7671)

  • City & Guilds 2391 / 2394

  • EV charging / renewables / power electronics experience

  • Experience working on Rapid DC / HPC chargers

  • Ability to read electrical schematics

  • EV manufacturer or charger-specific training

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Commission and configure AC & DC EV charging systems

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance

  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical and software faults

  • Perform firmware updates, testing and calibration

  • Replace faulty components in line with manufacturer standards

  • Provide on-site technical support and guidance to clients

  • Maintain accurate service reports and documentation

  • Work closely with operations teams to ensure service delivery

  • Ensure compliance with all H&S and electrical standards
