Job Description
Volantes Technical Recruitment is currently supporting the recruitment of an experienced Team Lead – Aviation Workshops to join a well-established aviation maintenance environment.
This role works closely with the Workshops Manager and plays a key part in delivering unit-level and intermediate maintenance on aircraft and associated components, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient workshop operations.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Supervising day-to-day workshop maintenance operations

Coordinating with shop supervisors on servicing and repair techniques in line with applicable directives, technical manuals, and standard operating procedures

Distributing, monitoring, and controlling all work orders assigned to workshop teams

Maintaining and updating personnel records

Preparing performance evaluations, special reports, and ensuring maintenance records are accurate and compliant with applicable maintenance management systems

Recommending, implementing, and administering maintenance plans and policies

Identifying the need for external contractors and coordinating and inspecting contracted work where required

Conducting regular inspections of workshop facilities and producing the necessary reports

Determining manpower, man-hours, parts, and facility requirements to improve workshop productivity

Monitoring logistics requirements including parts, tools, manuals, and equipment to sustain and enhance workshop operations

Performing maintenance trend analysis and applying production control, quality control, safety practices, training requirements, and other maintenance management principles

Maintaining accountability records for all tools and equipment assigned to the Workshop Department
Candidate Requirements
Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in an aviation discipline, or equivalent experience

Degree from an accredited aviation-related institution preferred
-
Significant aviation maintenance experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications
-
FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) licence or equivalent is desirable
Experience
-
Minimum of 15 years’ experience in aviation maintenance or a closely related field
-
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a management or supervisory role
-
Proven leadership and supervisory capability, ideally within a multicultural and/or military aviation environment
