Volantes are delighted to be supporting one of our long-standing, well-established rotary aviation partners in Oxford with the recruitment of an experienced Commercial Officer to join their growing team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the commercial heart of a major aviation organisation — supporting critical civilian and military operations.
The Opportunity
The Commercial Officer will play a pivotal role in managing and executing high-value service contracts, working closely with key internal teams such as Sales, Production, Maintenance, Material Management, and Finance.
You’ll be instrumental in ensuring successful contract delivery across sales, customisation, MRO and support services, while driving commercial excellence and compliance.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the execution and close-out of “By the Hours” service contracts.

Draft and develop service offers and commercial agreements.

Act as the main commercial point of contact for contract amendments and negotiations.

Monitor financial and operational performance to ensure contractual profitability.

Manage pricing renewals and track aircraft flying rates for accurate invoicing.

Identify and report on contractual risks, ensuring clear communication to senior leadership.

Support continuous improvement initiatives in commercial and contract management.

Collaborate closely across departments to deliver seamless commercial support.
Skills & Experience Required

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Aerospace Management, or related field.

Proven experience in commercial, contract management or a related business role.

Strong commercial acumen and ability to support complex negotiations.

Confident with financial analysis, pricing, and profitability management.

Excellent communication and influencing skills across multiple stakeholders.

Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously.

Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong risk awareness.
Desirable
-
Experience within the aviation, aerospace, or other complex engineering sectors.

A solid understanding of contract law and its practical application.
