About the Role

Volantes Technical Recruitment is working on behalf of a leading rotary-wing MRO based at Stansted, providing Base Maintenance across a varied customer base from VVIP to offshore operators, along with interior refurbishment and lease transaction support.

Our client is looking for an experienced Part 145 Engineering Manager to join their team, reporting to the Head of Engineering & Business Development. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role with full accountability for ensuring the Engineering Department complies with regulatory requirements set by the Competent Authority and Compliance Monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversight and hands-on support across all areas of Base/Line maintenance and support activities, including sub-contracted maintenance providers
  • Control and standard of performance of the maintenance department, including day-to-day administration of personnel
  • Ensuring the competence of all maintenance personnel under your management
  • Managing customer support requests from proposal through to completion, acting as a key point of contact
  • Assisting with planning of scheduled maintenance — ensuring tools, equipment, materials and sufficient competent personnel are available to plan, perform, supervise, inspect and certify work
  • Ensuring customer approval for work/rectifications is obtained and payment terms agreed, including review of draft customer invoices
  • Ensuring aircraft maintenance and documentation is completed in line with work specifications, regulatory requirements and company procedures
  • Full responsibility for the performance, wellbeing, training, development, motivation and Health & Safety of the Engineering department staff

What You'll Need

  • Qualifications and/or experience sufficient to hold a CAA & EASA Form 4
  • Demonstrable management experience within an MRO environment
  • Acceptability to the CAA (or other relevant authority) as a nominated post holder
  • Strong communication skills, with the flexibility to prioritise, problem-solve and manage a varied workload autonomously

Occasional travel to suppliers and other company bases will be required depending on business needs.
