Volantes Technical Recruitment is proud to be supporting a leading aviation engineering organisation in the search for an experienced Level 2 NDT Technician to join their Workshops team based at Norwich Airport.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded maintenance environment, working within a skilled and knowledgeable team delivering high-quality inspection services across aircraft and components.

 

The Role

As a Level 2 NDT Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out non-destructive testing inspections in accordance with approved data, procedures, and company policies. You will play a key role in ensuring components are returned to service safely, on time, and to the highest technical standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform aircraft and component NDT inspection tasks in line with approved data and instructions from the NDT Supervisor and/or Workshop Manager

  • Ensure all work carried out is accurately documented to the required standard

  • Work efficiently to meet deadlines and return-to-hangar targets

  • Escalate risks, findings, or concerns promptly, including recommended corrective actions

  • Adhere strictly to Health & Safety policies, reporting any accidents or near misses

  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment through good housekeeping

  • Maintain and control personal tooling in accordance with company procedures

 

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship or Armed Forces aircraft/workshop training

  • EN4179 Level 2 NDT certification in:

    • Eddy Current

    • Ultrasonic

    • Magnetic Particle

    • Dye Penetrant

  • Relevant City & Guilds, BTEC, NVQ, or equivalent technical qualifications

  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation

  • Competence using IT systems

  • Valid Human Factors, Fuel Tank Safety, and EWIS training

  • A decisive mindset with the ability to escalate issues appropriately

  • Strong communication skills, adaptable to different audiences

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders
