Job Description

Volantes Technical Recruitment, on behalf of our world-renowned Saudi based Rotary client have the role of Senior Safety Specialist available.

 

Summary

 

The Senior Safety Specialist is responsible to the Safety Director for the performance of the Safety Management System, the Safety Assurance Program, and all safety and risk management functions related to the clients operations conducted under SAR/EMS.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Assess the level to which SMS provisions are effective and satisfy the clients strategic business requirements across SAR/EMS operations.
  • Conduct periodic safety and quality audits in conjunction Quality team to ensure SMS requirements are being achieved.
  • Facilitate hazard identification and risk assessment across all aspects of SAR/EMS activities and the wider business.
  • Ensure the completion of all safety and issue reports received under SAR/EMS operations.
  • Investigate accidents associated with SAR/EMS and document the outcomes within required reports and action plans.
  • Coordinate occurrence and hazard investigations associated with SAR/EMS operations.
  • Contribute to the development of Safety Cases for all SAR/EMS operations and identify priority areas for the development of risk controls.
  • Assist in the maintenance and management of the companies Hazard/Risk Register.
  • Monitor, assess, and assure the effectiveness of safety risk controls identified under SAR/EMS operations.
  • Assist in the development, execution, and maintenance of vigorous and dynamic Safety Programs at all Bases/Deployments.
  • Ensure safety promotion throughout the organization and wider business.
  • Provide analysis and reporting of SMS performance within SAR/EMS operations.
  • Participate in Safety Meetings on a regular basis, provide minutes of meetings and record action outcomes for tracking.
  • Assist other Safety Managers within the business in fulfillment of their responsibilities.
  • Plan and facilitate staff safety training within the organization.
  • Regularly report to the Safety Director on the performance of the SMS within SAR/EMS and on any need for improvement.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all matters related to work and information.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Certificate course in Safety Management System qualification, and Certificate course in Aviation Auditor qualification.
  • Certificate course in aircraft accident investigation qualification is advantage.
  • Certificate course in Aviation Human Factors is advantage.

 

Experience & Skills

 

  • Ideally 4 years of experience as Safety in the aviation field.
  • Proven experience in effective team management.
  • High degree of knowledge within aviation risk-management principles, methods, and execution.
  • Technical knowledge sufficient to demonstrate a solid understanding of SMS within the companies field of operations.
  • Familiar with GACARs and other (FAA/EASA) regulations.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience in project management disciplines and skills.
  • Management and leadership skills for delivering high performance from direct reports.
  • Excellent report writing and document presentation skills.
  • High level of proficiency within MS Office suite applications.
  • Possess good work habits, team-oriented, disciplined, punctual, and focused on strategies of continual improvement.
  • Highly organized, process and task-oriented, problem-solving skills, and communications skills.
