Job Description

Volantes Technical Recruitment, on behalf of our long-standing Aberdeen based Rotary client have the permanent role of Avionic Type Engineer available.

 

The Avionics Type Engineer is responsible for providing the continuing airworthiness support of clients fleet of aircraft. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Daily oversight of the Aircraft Avionic and Electrical elements for Continuing Airworthiness, relevant to the Aircraft types operates by the client (AW139/S92/H175)
  • Liaison with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s) regarding Continuing Airworthiness issues, which include. Repairs, Modifications, Concessions, Investigations, Strip Reports and Safety Concerns.
  • Provide Technical Support to the Part 145 Organisation.
  • Liaison with Part 21 Design and Production Organisations regarding Continuing Airworthiness matters.
  • Reviewing Continuing Airworthiness Data which includes but not limited to Airworthiness Directives, Alert Service Bulletins and Service Bulletins.
  • Creation and issue of Technical Instructions, Technical Information Letters and Additional Recurring Inspections.
  • Review of Aircraft Maintenance Programmes and Change Proposals.
  • Review of Programme amendments.
  • Provide input to the following meetings:
    • Technical Safety Review Board
    • Flight Safety Occurrence Review Board
    • Safety and Quality Review Board
    • Maintenance Review Board
    • CAMO Modification and Technical Meeting
  • Attend OEM Customer Support Meetings
  • Manage Occurrence reports and investigations.
  • Provide out of hours support on a rotational basis.
  • Acceptance and return of aircraft.
  • Any other reasonable duties as necessary.

 

Applicants must have the following attributes

 

  • Comprehensive working knowledge of Part M, Part CAMO and Part 145 regulation.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Display Supervisory leadership skills.
  • Excellent Team Player.

 

 

Experience / Requirements

 

  • Relevant work experience as Part 66 Licensed Engineer B2 in Line or Base Maintenance, or prior experience as a Type Engineer with Engineering Degree.
  • Supervisory Experience preferred.
  • Practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices.
  • Good knowledge of SMS reporting and Quality systems.
  • Knowledge of the clients  aircraft fleet types.(AW139/S92/H175)
