Volantes Technical Recruitment, on behalf of our well established  UK based client have the permanent role of Quality Engineer available.

 

This is to join their team in Birmingham.

 

Position Summary:

To join a Compliance Monitoring and Safety Management team to conduct site compliance oversight, product & process support activities.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Contribute to the Quality Management Systems to support site approvals. This will be included conducting internal & external audits, maintenance of regulatory approvals administrative activities where required.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers, on Compliance related issues.
  • Governance and data management of internal / external Compliance related issues from notification through to closure.
  • Conduct Safety Management processes meeting regulatory standards.
  • Involvement in CORE improvement activities to drive site continuous improvements.
  • Act as department representative for internal and external meetings
  • Carry out First Article Inspection reviews.
  • Product safety activities, including investigation to root cause and support of new product introduction.
  • Host regulatory & customer surveillance visits, managing the outcomes of those visits.
  • Deliver training as required, updating staff competency / training records.
  • Support to the business departments to meet operational requirements.
  • Review Procedures and upkeeping the site document review process
  • Development & reporting of Key Performance Indicators, undertaking trend analysis and working with stakeholder to address underperforming metrics.


Essential Criteria:


  • A working understanding of aviation regulation and approvals. UK CAA / EASA Part 145, FAA, CAAC, AS9100, AS9110 & AS9120
  • Experienced in conducting investigations with full root cause analysis and structuring corrective action
  • An understanding of 8D principles
  • An experienced auditor
  • An understanding of Compliance and product quality requirements
  • Worked in an MRO / OE environment
  • Able to utilize Continuous Improvement tools & techniques.
  • Experience in working with bespoke computer-based records systems and tools including SAP, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject area
  • Strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, to enable effective communication at all levels.
  • Strength of character with the ability to make decisions in challenging circumstances.
  • Disciplined, organized and proactive approach to work.
