Technical Instructor (Fixed Wing) -  Part 66 / 145 / 147

 

Location: Bournemouth (Hybrid working available)

Hours: Full-time - 40 hours per week

 

Volantes Technical Recruitment is on the lookout for an experienced Fixed Wing Technical Instructor to join one of our longstanding client’s growing team. This role is responsible for the design, delivery, and ongoing development of technical training material within the Part-66/145/147 regulatory framework.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver aircraft type and regulatory-compliant training, both online and in person, including at different locations around the globe.

  • Identify training needs and requirements and support the development of tailored training programmes.

  • Develop and maintain the skills required to deliver approved aircraft training courses.

  • Ensure all training content and delivery remains fully regulatory compliant.

  • Create, review, and update training materials and supporting documentation.

  • Act as an examiner for aircraft types held under Part-147 approval.

  • Conduct examination analysis and manage question database reviews.

  • Support the training department during internal and external audits.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of training delivery, processes, and standards.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant aviation legislation.

  • Commit to ongoing professional development within technical training and aerospace.

 

Essential Requirements, Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Aeronautical, electrical, or mechanical degree OR Certified Part-66 Licensed Engineer OR Qualification in adult education or proven experience delivering aviation training.

  • Previous experience within a Part-147, Part-145, or Part-21 environment or a Part-66 Licensed Engineer with a strong passion for knowledge transfer.

  • Ability to deliver approved type training courses under CAA/EASA Part-147.

  • Strong working knowledge of CAA/EASA Part-66/145/147.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Highly organised, adaptable, and able to manage change effectively.

  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively.

  • Willingness to travel to other company locations as required.

  • Eligible to hold a CAA/EASA Form 4 position.

 

Desirable Experience

  • QTS / QLTS or equivalent teaching qualification.

  • Experience on Beechcraft King Air 300 series and/or Embraer 135/145 experience.

  • Previous delivery of aircraft maintenance training.

  • Current and practical knowledge of Part-147 regulations.

  • Experience as a type training instructor within a Part-147 environment.

  • Proficiency in the use of aircraft maintenance documentation.
