Safety & Compliance Engineer
The Safety & Compliance Engineer is responsible for supporting the organization’s Safety Management System and Compliance Monitoring within the Airworthiness & Aircraft Maintenance Division. The role ensures that all engineering, maintenance, and airworthiness activities are conducted in accordance with GCAA’s regulatory requirements, company manuals, and industry best practices. This position proactively identifies safety risks, monitors compliance, performs audits & Airworthiness Reviews, and drives continual improvement.

Qualifications
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical or FAA/GCAA License or equivalent.
- Having attended a recognised ISO 9001 or equivalent Internal Auditor Training is desirable.
- Having attended training in Safety Management or Quality Management System is desirable.
- GCAA-approved Airworthiness Review Certificate (ARC) signatory is an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in aviation engineering, maintenance, continuing airworthiness, safety, or compliance. Private aviation experience preferred.
- Practical knowledge of GCAA CAR SMS, CAR M, CAR 145, and relevant CAR AIR OPS interfaces.
- Experience in internal audits, compliance monitoring, or safety investigations preferred.
Regulatory & Technical Knowledge
- Knowledge of:
- GCAA, FAA, and EASA regulatory framework is preferred
- Safety Management Systems
- Maintenance and continuing airworthiness processes
- Understanding of CAR AIR OPS is desired
- Familiarity with approved maintenance data (AMM, CMM, SBs, ADs).
- Understanding of risk assessment methodologies and root cause analysis techniques.
Skills & Competencies
- Ability to identify hazards, non-compliances, and systemic weaknesses.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for report writing and presentations.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
