Volantes Technical Recruitment, on behalf of our long-term well-established Aberdeen based client have the permanent role of Shift Supervisor (Base Maintenance) available.
Role Summary
The role will report to the Base Maintenance Manager for the requirements of the department and will assist the Maintenance Manager to motivate and drive the team in exceeding project milestones and identify areas for continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will be both energetic and passionate, with the safe operation of the department being their number one priority. They will be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills and a cognitive approach to their duties. This is a fast paced, and dynamic environment, with often changing deadlines/requirements due to commercial priorities.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the Base Maintenance Shift Supervisor are inclusive but not limited to:
- Playing a key role in our clients ability to set the standard for safety.
- The quality control of aircraft maintenance, equipment, and documentation in all areas under the department’s control.
- Delegate and prioritise scheduled tasks in order to efficiently complete maintenance in a timely manner.
- Assist Maintenance Manager to motivate and enthuse team members to continually reach project milestones, whilst also identify areas of improvement.
- Fully brief team members on shift of tasks to be carried out, including any health and safety considerations (e.g. toolbox talks).
- Ensuring staff comply with the requirements of department maintenance procedures.
- Coordinate the maintenance and control of associated equipment and tooling.
- Maintaining surveillance of documentation to ensure compliance with company procedures.
- Ensuring the cleanliness of all working areas under the department’s control (facility).
- Being the point of contact for out of hours issues.
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Recent helicopter Line/Base maintenance, with considerable certifying experience in similar environment.
- Possession of a UKCAA Part 66 Licence in CAT B1.3 and/or B2 with an S92 and/or EC175 Type Rating.
- Considerable knowledge of CAA regulations with regards to the Part 145 Maintenance Organisation and Continued Airworthiness.
- Excellent Communications skills as the role may be require you to communicate internally and externally to persons outside of your discipline and at all levels.
- The ability to work within a team, which will include coordination of tasks outside of your trade discipline.
- Be able to demonstrate leadership experience/qualities.
- Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management skills and be adaptable to changing deadlines/priorities.
- Awareness of MSDS and COSHH requirements.
- Experience/knowledge of AMOS MRO software is desirable.
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of clients core values and continue to promote these to other team members.
- Must have the right to live and work in the UK.
