Job Description
Volantes Technical Recruitment is supporting a leading Saudi-based aviation operator in the search for an accomplished Flight Safety Manager (Part 121).
This role is central to ensuring the effective delivery, oversight, and continuous improvement of the organisation’s Safety Management System (SMS) and Safety Assurance Programme across all Part 121 operations.
The successful candidate will lead hazard identification, risk assessment, safety investigations, and safety promotion initiatives while ensuring full regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Management & Assurance

Evaluate the effectiveness of SMS provisions across all Part 121 operations and ensure alignment with organisational safety and business objectives.

Conduct planned and ad-hoc safety and quality audits alongside the Quality team.

Lead hazard identification and risk assessments across all operational environments.

Manage all safety reports and issues raised within Part 121 operations through to closure.

Lead accident and occurrence investigations, producing detailed reports, findings, and corrective action plans.

Maintain and enhance the Hazard/Risk Register.

Monitor the effectiveness of risk controls and corrective/preventative actions.

Support development of Safety Cases and identify priority areas for safety improvements.

Promote a strong safety culture and support training, awareness, and safety communication across the organisation.

Produce regular SMS performance reports and present updates to senior management.

Qualifications
-
Certification in Safety Management Systems.
-
Certification as an Aviation Auditor.

Aircraft accident investigation training (advantage).
-
Aviation Human Factors training (advantage).

Equivalent practical experience as a Safety Manager within a similar aviation organisation will also be considered.
Experience & Technical Skills
-
Minimum 7 years in aviation, including at least 3 years in a management role.

Minimum 3 years in aviation safety within operations comparable to Part 121.

Previous EMS / SAR helicopter experience is advantageous.

Strong knowledge of aviation risk-management methodologies.

Experience working within Part 121 operational environments.

Solid understanding of SMS requirements and best practices.

Strong working knowledge of GACAR, FAA, and/or EASA regulations.

Highly proficient in MS Office and aviation database/IT systems.

Strong analytical skills, project management abilities, and written communication.

Highly organised, disciplined, team-oriented, and focused on continuous improvement.
