Field Service Engineer – EV Charging
📍 London (UK-wide travel required)
💰 £35,700 – £48,300 DOE + Benefits
We’re looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer (FSE) to join a leading name in the UK’s EV charging infrastructure sector.
In this hands-on field-based role, you’ll be responsible for the commissioning, maintenance, and repair of AC Chargers, Rapid DC, Ultra and High-Power Charging (HPC) units across multiple sites nationwide.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives working independently, enjoys problem-solving, and wants to play a key role in supporting the UK’s transition to cleaner transport.
Key Responsibilities

Commission, maintain and repair AC, Rapid DC, Ultra and HPC EV chargers.

Diagnose and resolve complex technical faults efficiently on client sites.

Work across a variety of environments including outdoor and confined spaces.

Ensure chargers operate at peak performance and meet strict quality standards.

Provide clear communication and excellent customer service at every site.

Travel across the UK, including occasional overnight stays.
Essential Requirements

NVQ Level 3 Electrical Qualification (or equivalent).

Minimum 2 years’ experience in a field-based electrical engineering role.

Confident working independently and resolving technical issues on site.

Familiarity with basic test and measurement equipment (e.g. multimeters, voltage testers).

Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Valid UK driving licence (6 penalty points or less).
Desirable Skills & Qualifications

BS7671:2018 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations).

City & Guilds 2391/2394 Testing and Inspection.

Previous experience in EV charging, renewable energy or power electronics sectors.

Manufacturer-specific EV charger training or certifications.

Proven experience working on Rapid DC, Ultra and HPC chargers.

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals.

Understanding of analogue & digital electronics and on-site H&S standards.
