Summary
Volantes Technical Recruitment is seeking a Deputy Continuing Airworthiness Manager, based in Aberdeen or Norwich.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reviewing the CAMO work instructions for compliance, processes, and effectiveness.
- Collaborating with the subcontracted airworthiness personnel through block maintenance support.
- Excellent communication skills essential to communicate at all levels and will all stakeholders from a technical aspect and an airworthiness aspect.
- To approve in the absence of the NPCAM all AMP revisions for all helicopter types operated.
- To provide support and coverage for all internal and external audits when the NPCAM is not available.
- Day to day management of the CAMO personnel to ensure compliance within the regulatory framework.
- Troubleshooting aircraft technical issues as they arise from an engineering technical knowledge supporting the contracted maintenance organisation.
- Liaising with the OEMs and attending where applicable OEM MIT and PMR events (Airbus and Leonardo)
- Submitting technical enquiries into the OEMs through the OEM portals when aircraft issues arise through block maintenance and line operations.
- To assess effectively including risk assessing all airworthiness related publications including airworthiness directives and alert service bulletins.
- Be able to make decisions representing when covering the NPCAM on all matters relating to the airworthiness of the aircraft.
- Knowledge and understanding of risk assessment, management of change processes an advantage
- Knowledge and understanding of Safety Management Systems, Safety Review Board Meetings and Safety Action Groups
- The ability to lead, manage and document the CAMO team daily meetings detailing the contracted maintenance organizational issues and CAMO related issues and providing resolutions where required
EXPERIENCE:
- Knowledge & understanding of aircraft EC175B / AW139 & AW169 Aircraft Fleet Types an advantage
- Engineering related background demonstrating maintenance understanding and/or performance of maintenance preferably from a Part 145 background
- Knowledge, experience through demonstrated involvement of continuing airworthiness environments accompanied with understanding of regulatory requirements.
- Experience in recovering aircraft from remote locations and/or offshore locations through aircraft unserviceability.
SKILLS:
- Good computer knowledge including use of Word and Excel and PDF
- Good working knowledge of technical English (writing/reading/speaking)
- Good communication skills are required as dealing with internal and external customers
- The ability to challenge decisions within the airworthiness environment
- Preferably a technical background with demonstrated engineering knowledge
- Good organisation skills
- Good analytical skills
- Good analysis skills and the ability to query OEMs where applicable
- Regulatory understanding between EASA and UK CAA
- Good team leadership and teamwork skills
- The ability to work on own initiative
- Agility to move and change with the evolving company
- Good innovative skills to implement improvements
- Ability to learn new software packages such as Rusada Envision, QPULSE, etc.
- Driven by results with a proactive approach and open to change.
- Willing to travel as required
