We are currently supporting a key aviation client with the appointment of a Head of Planning to join their operation.
This is a business-critical leadership role, and while the client continues their search for a permanent hire, they are now looking to appoint an experienced professional on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract to provide immediate leadership, structure, and direction to the planning function.
This opportunity is ideal for a proven planning leader who can step in quickly, take ownership, and drive performance within a fast-paced MRO environment.
The Role
You will lead the planning function across a complex maintenance environment, ensuring all activities are delivered efficiently, compliantly, and in line with operational priorities.
Key responsibilities include:

Leading and managing the planning function across Part 145 / Part 21G environments

Driving effective maintenance planning, forecasting, and scheduling

Ensuring optimal resource allocation across hangar and line activities

Working closely with production, engineering, and commercial teams to align planning with operational demands

Identifying and implementing improvements to planning processes, systems, and workflows

Maintaining compliance with regulatory and organisational requirements
About You

Strong background in aircraft maintenance planning within an MRO environment

Proven experience in a senior / leadership planning role

Strong understanding of Part 145 operations and regulatory frameworks

Ability to step into a role quickly and deliver immediate impact

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
