The Role

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the full bid lifecycle, from opportunity qualification through to submission and contract award

IFE TECHNICIAN

Coordinate the operation, maintenance, and development of aircraft inflight entertainment (IFE) and cabin management systems (CMS). Ensure the serviceability of related devices, assist in upgrades and modifications, troubleshoot technical issues, and support compliance with operational standards.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Device Management

• Ensure the serviceability and readiness of IFE carry-on devices by cleaning, charging, updating software, and managing subscriptions.

Technical Support

• Assist the Engineering department in maintaining and troubleshooting IFE/CMS systems.
• Provide focused technical support for defect investigations and operational issues related to IFE/CMS systems.

System Documentation

• Maintain and update software, firmware, and hardware matrices for IFE/CMS equipment across the fleet.
• Support the creation of operational procedures for equipment not covered in the Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM).

Content Management

• Coordinate and action periodic updates for content, such as live TV, media downloads, and movie refreshes.

Training and Development

• Initiate and support training programs, including on-the-job (OJT) and structured refresher courses for IFE/CMS systems.

Upgrades and Modifications

• Collaborate with the Corporate Planning department on upgrades, obsolescence solutions, and integration of new IFE/CMS technologies.

Operational Support

• Act as a backup for flying IFE engineers during operational flights as required.

Innovation and Solutions

• Assist in exploring and implementing new technologies, modifications, and system enhancements.
• Perform additional tasks as requested by the direct supervisor to support Inflight entertainment goals.

COMMUNICATION

Internal Communication:

• Liaise with the Base Maintenance Manager to report on IFE/CMS status and operational challenges.
• Collaborate with the Engineering Department to address maintenance and technical needs.
• Coordinate with the Corporate Planning Department on system upgrades and technological improvements.

External Communication:

• Communicate with vendors for system updates, support, and subscription management.
• Liaise with content providers for media refreshes and updates.
• Work with OEMs for troubleshooting and system enhancements.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education & Skills (Required, Preferred)

Required:

• Higher secondary education or equivalent qualification.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
• Strong technical problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Preferred:

• Advanced certifications in IFE/CMS maintenance.
• Familiarity with Collins Tailwind Live TV and related systems.
• Experience in managing fleet-wide content updates and system integrations.

Safety & Compliance Engineer

The Safety & Compliance Engineer is responsible for supporting the organization’s Safety Management System and Compliance Monitoring within the Airworthiness & Aircraft Maintenance Division. The role ensures that all engineering, maintenance, and airworthiness activities are conducted in accordance with GCAA’s regulatory requirements, company manuals, and industry best practices. This position proactively identifies safety risks, monitors compliance, performs audits & Airworthiness Reviews, and drives continual improvement.

Job Specification: -

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical or FAA/GCAA License or equivalent.
• Having attended a recognised ISO 9001 or equivalent Internal Auditor Training is desirable.
• Having attended training in Safety Management or Quality Management System is desirable.
• GCAA-approved Airworthiness Review Certificate (ARC) signatory is an advantage.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in aviation engineering, maintenance, continuing airworthiness, safety, or compliance. Private aviation experience preferred.
• Practical knowledge of GCAA CAR SMS, CAR M, CAR 145, and relevant CAR AIR OPS interfaces.
• Experience in internal audits, compliance monitoring, or safety investigations preferred.

Regulatory & Technical Knowledge

• Knowledge of:
  • GCAA, FAA, and EASA regulatory framework is preferred
  • Safety Management Systems
  • Maintenance and continuing airworthiness processes
  • Understanding of CAR AIR OPS is desired
• Familiarity with approved maintenance data (AMM, CMM, SBs, ADs).
• Understanding of risk assessment methodologies and root cause analysis techniques.

Volantes is supporting an established Part-145 maintenance operation at Shannon Airport and is currently seeking experienced B1 and B2 Licensed Aircraft Engineers for ongoing contract work.

This is an excellent long-term opportunity to work within a well-structured base maintenance environment, supporting heavy maintenance and checks on Boeing 757 aircraft powered by RB211 and PW2000 engines.

Role Responsibilities

• Carry out aircraft maintenance, inspections, defect rectification and certification in accordance with EASA Part-145 requirements

• Perform B1 and/or B2 scope tasks on airframe, systems, avionics and powerplant

• Support base maintenance inputs including heavy checks and scheduled inspections

• Accurately complete technical documentation and certify work carried out

• Troubleshoot and diagnose technical defects using approved manuals and data

• Work closely with production, planning and quality teams to meet delivery schedules

• Maintain the highest standards of safety, quality and regulatory compliance at all times

Engineer Requirements

Essential:

• EASA Part-66 B1 and/or B2 Licence

• Type rated on 757 RB211/PW2000 as 6 months certifying experience in the last 20 years

• Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance documentation (AMM, CMM, SRM, IPC)

• Ability to work effectively in a base maintenance / MRO environment

Desirable:

• Previous heavy maintenance or C-check experience

• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting capability

• Flexible and team-focused approach to contract work

Contract & Rates

• Day Rate: €45 per hour

• Night Rate: €46 per hour

• Accommodation Allowance: €30 per day

• Travel Allowance: €300 per journey

The Facilities Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management, maintenance, and security of company facilities. This role ensures buildings are safe, compliant, well maintained, and operating efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage building maintenance across all structural, cosmetic, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing areas, both internally and externally.

• Implement and manage preventative maintenance schedules to reduce downtime.

• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including Fire Safety Regulations.

• Work closely with procurement to support contract management, negotiations, and tender processes.

• Coordinate and oversee sub-contractors, including supervision and site access where required.

• Develop and manage annual facilities budgets, monitor utility costs, and support justification for capital expenditure.
